How to play Shreksophone on Saxophone

On this page, we'll be learning how to play Shreksophone on Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone or Soprano Saxophone!

Shreksophone is a meme depicting Shrek playing the saxophone (sometimes without needing to use his hands), accompanied by the song "Zonnestraal" by De Hofnar. De Hofnar is a Dutch EDM artist, and the version of the song used in the meme is a remix from Austrian electronica duo MÖWE.

Created using the Source Filmmaker software and originally posted to YouTube in 2014, Shreksophone found popularity again five years later when new 1-hour and 10-hour remixes were uploaded. Different versions of the video have amassed tens of millions of views. Meanwhile, in 2020 the original film Shrek (2001) was inducted in to the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress.
