How to play Castaways on Saxophone

On this page, we'll be learning how to play Castaways on Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone or Soprano Saxophone!

The song Castaways comes from the kids TV show The Backyardigans, where it was first heard in 2005. It enjoyed new success in 2021 after going viral on TikTok. The Backyardigans, which aired from 2004-2013, followed five animated animal neighbours on imaginary adventures in their backyard, with each episode exploring a different musical genre with original songs composed by Evan Lurie and McPaul Smith. Castaways is in the style of bossa nova, a genre of Brazilian music that combines influences from samba and jazz. Other bossa nova songs include "The Girl from Ipanema" and "Black Orpheus".
