How to play Baker Street on Saxophone

On this page, we'll be learning how to play Baker Street on Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone or Soprano Saxophone!

Written and recorded by Scottish singer Gerry Rafferty, Baker Street was released in 1978 on his album City to City. The iconic alto saxophone riff, performed by session musician Raphael Ravenscroft, was so impactful at the time that it led to a resurgence of the saxophone in popular music, dubbed the "Baker Street phenomenon". Ravenscroft, meanwhile, admitted in 2011 that he thought the solo was out of tune.
